PURPOSE

Provide one place where individuals can learn more about green job education and apprenticeship programs across the state including access to national and industry resources.

  • To increase awarness and understanding on green jobs in both emerging and existing occupations including labor market and industry information.

  • To increase awareness and understanding of courses, certificates, and degrees available in seven green occupations available at Oregon community colleges and Oregon apprenticeship programs.

  • To increase awarness of industry credentials for seven green occupations.

DESCRIPTION

Oregon's Green Statewide Green Career Pathways website provides roadmaps for seven "green" emerging and existing occupations showing community college courses, certificates, and programs and apprenticeship programs available across Oregon. Labor market, industry, and career related information is also provided. Go to www.oregongreenpathways.org.

Website gathers information on specific green occupations from dozens of websites and "maps" it in one place for students, job seekers, and advisors/counselors to learn about it in one place.

More Oregonians aware of green job skill requirements as well as education and training available statewide to gain green job skills.

RESOURCES AND LESSONS LEARNED

Received funding from ARRA grant to develop website.

  • ARRA Grant $102,460 was used to develop the website using the Career Pathways Roadmap Webtool.

  • Used the Career Pathway Roadmap WebTool to develop roadmaps. Available as open source agreement. No cost to download open source code.

  • Increased awareness of both emerging and existing green occupations is vital to understanding green skills.
