PURPOSE

Make public the Exam Equivalency Scores and how they transfer into any Arizona public institution.

  • By making public the exam scores for Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), International Baccalaureate (IB) students can better prepare for their academic future.

DESCRIPTION

The Exam Equivalency Guide has been developed to assist students in determining how scores may translate into credit in four testing programs; Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), International Baccalaureate (IB). Current and perspective students select an exam from the testing program listing to view acceptable scores at all public community colleges and universities in Arizona.

By publishing the exam scores for Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), International Baccalaureate (IB) students can better prepare for their academic future. This tool is used by all public community colleges and universities in Arizona to evaluate exam equivalency. The list includes: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Arizona Western College, Central Arizona College, Cochise College, Coconino Community College, Dine College, Eastern Arizona College, Maricopa Community Colleges, Mohave Community College, Northland Pioneer College, Pima Community College, Tohono O'odham Community College, Yavapai College.

  • Puts vital information in the hands of students and advisors.

The goal of this product is to assist students with information related to exam work from Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), International Baccalaureate (IB) will transfer to Arizona institutions. The product is too new to have evaluation information available.

Allows students to plan course work.

RESOURCES AND LESSONS LEARNED

Statewide server, two technical state staff, end user needs a web browser.

  • The product is supported by annual dues from member institutions. However, the cost to implement would include a dedicated server-one time cost of approximately $20,000.

  • Two Technical programming staff at approximately $150,000 annually.

  • A web browser.

  • Making public exam equivalencies online alllows students to plan for their academic future.
