The Course Equivalency Guide (CEG) shows how courses transfer from community college to ASU, NAU and U of A.
GOALS / EXPECTATIONS:
The CEG publishes how courses taken at one school (the "source" institution, typically an Arizona community college) transfer to another school (the "target" institution, ASU, NAU, or UA).
The online Course Equivalency Guide tells how courses taken at one school (the "source" institution, typically an Arizona community college) transfer to another school (the "target" institution, ASU, NAU, or UA). The CEG calendar year runs from Summer Session I through Spring Semester, with data going back to 1990. With the exception of direct course equivalencies, the CEG does not indicate how courses will apply to completion of major requirements at the universities. The CEG does not determine how transfer courses may apply to specific baccalaureate degree.

The data sources come from Arizona's public universities, either PeopleSoft or DARS. This tool also is equipped with a query feature and a variety of reports for use at the admin level. This tool is used by all public institutions in Arizona: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Arizona Western College, Central Arizona College, Cochise College, Coconino Community College, Dine College, Eastern Arizona College, Maricopa Community Colleges, Mohave Community College, Northland Pioneer College, Pima Community College, Tohono O'odham Community College, Yavapai College.

The technical development for the online Course Equivalency Guide took 6 months, but it has continued to be updated and improved upon in the 10 years it has been online.
RESOURCES AND COSTS NEEDED:
Statewide server, two technical state staff, end user needs a browser.
Each school pays annual dues based on institution size.
Possibly looking at a tool called "MyCEG" which allows students to enter course work and see equivalency reports on their own courses.
